Christopher Stassi
On the night of February 9, 2021, our world was shattered. My 15 year old son, Christopher William Stassi, made a choice that will forever reverberate through every single life he touched and ended his pain by suicide. Suicide is a very real threat to our most vulnerable of souls and is something that we must begin addressing now. This is what my son would want the world to know, because he himself talked down so many from making this exact decision.

Christopher was brilliant, absurdly hilarious, and unapologetically himself. He was kind-hearted, gentle, and would not hesitate in giving his full attention to anyone in need of a shoulder to lean on. My son always asked about your day before he ever talked about his. He loved to grab you up in hugs that absolutely enveloped you until you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that you were cherished with his whole heart.

So, we walk for you, my darling boy. Know that you too were loved beyond measure, and the world is just a little darkened without your light. In the words of our brave boy, “Be swag, not sad.”
